SERVING AS THE LORD’S PRESS AGENT
Read:
I Peter 3:8-16
“Make the most of your chances to tell others the
Good News. Be wise in your contacts
with them.”
Colossians 4:5 (Living)
As the TV cameras scan the stands at sporting events, signs reading John 3:16 and/or “Jesus Saves” can often be seen. As I read these signs I often wonder how many people read them and want to learn more about our Lord.
Accepting that we are all His ambassadors, I
wondered how many people “read” my words and actions and would want to know
about the Lord I claim as my own. It is
a sobering thought. What do others
learn about my Master when I am hasty to complain or to point out the
faults of others. I do desire to be an effective “press agent”
for Him and demonstrate His love and testify to the difference He has made in
my life but is this message that others “read”?
The signs, which so often appear on TV screens, may
well lead, some people to want to know about our Lord and establish a
relationship with Him. But I like to
think that many more will come to know Christ by observing what a wonderful
difference He has made in my life and in the lives of other believers. Hopefully, they will overlook some of my
words and actions and recognize that He still has much work to do in me and
others.
